Appearing again in the Tappan Chair line for possibly the first time since the late 1800’s, in 2014 the five slat Tappan Rocker was brought back into production thanks to a 2014 Kickstarter project that received wide media coverage and attention. Using several historic Tappan rocking chairs still in existence in the local Sandwich, NH community as reference, this rocker immediately re-established itself as a favorite accent piece or a delightful porch rocker. With a lower and wider seat and a high fifth slat to serve as a head rest, this chair offers relaxation and repose as well now as it did 125 years ago. Shown in walnut with a natural checkerboard weave.
Our chairs are available in any of the woods, seating colors, and weaves shown at no additional charge. You may specify your preferences in the space provided at checkout, or we will be in touch to help you with your selection. We also gladly accommodate custom sizing by special request.
